What You've Missed!

Welcome back 49ers! We hope the semester is treating you well and in case you missed us in the Fall, here is a quick recap of the events that took place throughout the semester. We began by tabling at Week of Welcome where we were able to promote our Fall Mixer. The mixer was instrumental in expanding the Chicana/o Latina/o Studies Student Association by inviting students to our center to introduce ourselves and our goals as a department organization. This was followed up with a Beach Social at Bolsa Chica State Beach in which we strengthened our bond using food, games, and music to bring us together. Fall 2015 culminated in our semi-annual event, Café Cultura, in which students are encouraged to perform their poetry, stories, music, and any other form of art, accompanied by pan dulce and coffee. Make sure to follow us on all forms of social media and come visit us in El Centro (LA-5 Room 351) so you don’t miss any of the fun events we have planned for Spring 2016!
